Summary
We work on the main movements and strategies for establishing the guard in brazilian jiu jitsu.
We keep working on understanding the reasons why we can work from the guard in sport bjj and which are the three main goals:
- Reverse the position using sweeps.
- Submitting the opponent using chokes and luxations.
- Transitioning to other advantageous positions like the back or mount.
We also work in understanding the relevance of learning first to pull closed guard and progressively learning open and half guard pulls.
We practise some relevant drills:
