In this class we work on the principles and strategies for keeping the side control and attacking from it
Key concepts for side control retention:
- Look for the cross face and the underhook
- Understanding that we have to work to prevent the opponent turning to us and his hip escaping. And how underhook and crossface help to achieve this
- Understanding the Weight Distribution relevance: for control and being aware of being rolled up. Importance of sprawling and being on your toes.
- Main transitions : to Mount, to the Back and to Knee on the Belly.
- Review of some the main submissions from side control : ( armbars (spinning and inverted), americana, kimura and baseball bat choke)
