Summary
In this class we work on the principles and strategies for defending and escaping side control in brazilian jiu jitsu.
Concepts for defending:
Preventive position (Seting up the frames with knee elbow connection and being to the side). The relevance of avoiding the cross face and the far arm underhook. Drilling the setup of this position
Escaping the worst scenario. Understanding the need of recovering the inside position. The use of bridges and frames recovery and set up.
Fundamentals Movements:
- Guard Recovery (Bruno Malfacine, Xande Ribeiro and Pedro Sauer) ,
- Back Take
- Going for single leg, double leg or bulldozer takedowns if the opponent remains close.
- Framing work, Hip Escape, Going to fours movements (the belly down movement)
